Loewy &
Puiseux: Photographies Lunaire
Maurice Loewy (1833-1907) and Pierre Puiseux
"Atlas Photographique de la Lune (in 4 volumes), Observatoire de
Paris, 1896-1910 This general map of the Moon's regions was perhaps
the crowning achievement of Lunar photography of the 19th century.
Though their theory that volcanic action caused the moon's craters
was disproved in the mid 1900s, their striking photogravures display
the results of the accomplishments of early astronomical photographers.
