APOLLO 13 CSM LUNAR LANDMARK MAPS: A hand-made binder including 13 gelatin silver prints and 56 offset photographic plates, all from original photographic negatives or composites from prior lunar missions. A few are fold-out offset panoramas. Most have cartographic devices and markings, all to enable the Command Service Module (CSM) pilot (Jack Swigert) to recognize lunar landmarks such as craters, hills, etc. Several pages throughout of text-data. Most pages have a printed date (from February to April, 1970). The mission launched on April 11, 1970 and was aborted because of service module problems. The astronauts were James Lovell, Commander; John Swigert, Command Pilot; and Fred Haise, Lunar Module Pilot. (scroll right for more images. click images to view a larger size) |
