NIKOLAI KUBEEV (1910-1956)

Nikolai Kubeev was born in Troize-Ramenskoe, a village in the district of Borisogledsk. He moved to Moscow in 1925, and in 1930 became a member of the working research brigade of Soviet Photo and worked for its Moscow division from 1934-1941. He participated in the first All Union Exhibition of Photographic Art in 1937. His photographs regularly appeared in Pravda, Bolshoi Theater and in many issues of Soviet Photo, as well as in special exhibitions, among them the "16th Anniversary of Lenin's Death". In 1941 he became a war correspondent and volunteered to move to the front where he was seriously wounded. He died in 1956 in Moscow.
